The event attracted over 100 delegates, including scientists, lecturers, business managers, technology experts, and students from various universities and research institutions. The workshop served as a forum connecting academia, research, and business, aiming to apply advanced technological trends such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, and Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN) into practical training, research, and startup initiatives.
The workshop began with a welcome speech by Dr. Hoang Van Thong, Head of the Faculty of Information Technology, University of Transport and Communications – and an active member of UBA – emphasizing the role of connecting academia, technology, and innovation in universities.
Following was an inspiring presentation by Dr. Do Ngoc Minh, Chairman of UBA, titled “From Ethereum to a New Digital Infrastructure.” The talk revisited the 10-year journey of resilient formation and development of the Ethereum blockchain platform – one of the important foundations for Web3 and current DePIN networks. Dr. Minh also shared UBA’s nearly 5-year journey in supporting lecturers, building student clubs, implementing hackathons, and organizing blockchain research and teaching within the Vietnamese university system.
On this occasion, UBA also expressed gratitude and acknowledged the outstanding contributions of its members. The Faculty of IT, University of Transport and Communications, was honored for its achievements over the past period.
Continuing the program was a presentation by Dr. Bui Ngoc Dung, Vice Head of the Faculty of IT – University of Transport and Communications, sharing in-depth insights into the challenges of researching and deploying AI in a university environment, especially when limited computing infrastructure is a common barrier.
After that, Mr. Raj, a representative from IO.net, introduced the io.net ecosystem, including the decentralized GPU network, grant programs, the io.intelligence platform, and the developer toolkit. The presentation highlighted the importance of expanding GPU access for researchers, startups, and AI developers.
The program concluded the presentations with a live demonstration (demo) of how to deploy AI models using decentralized GPU resources – performed by the io.net technical team. This practical highlight helped attendees grasp the operation, setup, and integration process of new computing tools.
