On the morning of June 21, 2024, the Faculty of Information Technology of the University of Transport and Communications, together with UBA (University Blockchain Alliance), successfully organized a workshop with the theme “Web3 and Decentralized Identity (DID)”. The event attracted the attention and participation of many teachers from universities, especially the IT and economics faculties of the University of Transport and Communications, Nguyen Trai University, and more than 200 students.


Conference Content
The workshop began with an opening session by a representative of the Faculty of Information Technology – University of Transport and Communications, introducing the goals and significance of the event. The workshop aimed to provide students and lecturers with an overview of Web3 technology and the application of Decentralized Identity (DID) in various fields.

1. Cardano2vn’s presentation on Decentralized Identity (DID)



Next was the presentation by Cardano2vn, a prominent representative from the Cardano community in Vietnam. Cardano2vn shared about Decentralized Identity (DID), one of the important and potential applications of Blockchain technology. DID allows users to control and manage their identities safely and transparently without the intervention of third parties. Key points in this sharing included:

Introduction to DID and its importance in the digital world.
Applications of DID in identity management, education, healthcare, and other industries.
Illustrations of real projects implementing DID on the Cardano platform.

2. Binance’s presentation on Web3


Binance, one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges, gave a detailed presentation on Web3 – the next generation of the Internet based on Blockchain technology. A representative from Binance explained how Web3 can create a decentralized Internet ecosystem where users can control their digital data and assets autonomously. Highlights of Binance’s sharing included:

Basic concepts of Web3 and its core components.
Benefits of Web3 for users and businesses.
Practical applications of Web3 in daily life.

3. Interaction and Discussion


After the sharing sessions, the workshop moved to a Q&A and open discussion session where teachers and students had the opportunity to ask questions and exchange ideas with experts. Topics discussed lively included the development potential of Web3 in Vietnam, challenges and opportunities when implementing DID in various fields.

Conclusion
The workshop “Web3 and Decentralized Identity (DID)” concluded with a lot of useful and practical information for both lecturers and students. The event not only helped expand knowledge about Blockchain technology but also encouraged cooperation and development in the academic and business community.

This is an important step in raising awareness and promoting the development of Blockchain and Web3 technology in Vietnam.
