In recent years, blockchain technology has become a hot trend globally. This technology has great potential for applications in industries from financial services, manufacturing, public administration, supply chains, education, NFT digital assets, Gamefi, Metaverse, etc. To help faculty and students have the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts on this issue, the Faculty of Information Technology – University of Transport and Communications, in coordination with the Catalyst project of Blockchain Cardano (ADA) and Devmaster, a member of the UBA (University Blockchain Alliance, Vietnam) community, organized a scientific conference with the theme “Potential and Applications of Blockchain in the Digital Economy“, at 9:00 AM on March 19, 2022, in online format on Zoom.
The speakers of the conference are key members of UBA, including:
- Mr. Do Ngoc Minh, Institute of Information Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi
- Mr. Nguyen Anh Tien, Executive of Eastern Townhall Meeting, Catalyst Project
- Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology
In addition to the conference, the Faculty of Information Technology, University of Transport and Communications also coordinated with the Catalyst project group, represented by Mr. Nguyen Anh Tien in charge of the Eastern Townhall Meeting of the Catalyst project, and Devmaster Training Institute to co-organize a training course to help faculty and students access the Catalyst project with a capital of over $1 billion (one billion USD). The training course helps faculty and students understand how to work with global, decentralized projects, and supports faculty and students in writing project/idea proposals to apply for funding from Catalyst’s fund as well as participating in the project evaluation process.
The conference and training course will provide attendees with useful knowledge such as what it is like to work with global, decentralized projects, how to propose projects for funding from Catalyst, and how to become a CA/VCA of Catalyst.
Project Catalyst is a project developed by IOHK – the management company of Cardano Blockchain, which is a decentralized and community-centered platform, developed by the community, for the community, and for the community. The goal is to target developers and attract their participation to contribute to the development of the community in general and the Cardano community in particular through submitting ideas/projects and receiving funding from the community voting model. The projects with the most votes will receive funding to implement.
